Hills and Views

This is the first of two walks over a weekend to walk the whole of the Circuit of Bath route. We start from the Odd Down Park and Ride (do remember to pay for parking) and walk to the pretty village of Englishcombe. From there we follow the Newton Brook towards Bath Mill for a short while before climbing towards Carr’s Wood. Then we head towards Weston and start the climb up to Lansdown, checking the views as we go. We stay on the plateau for a bit before descending to the Woolley Valley. From there we climb towards Upper Swainswick and then onto Little Solsbury Hill, where we can savour the views back towards Bath. From there we descend towards Batheaston our end point for the day. Guided by your walk leaders we will return to the start point using public transport. Bring snacks and a packed lunch.

The walk is just over 11 miles and takes at least six hours (10am to 4pm). The meeting point is Odd Down Park and Ride – near the toilets. W3W – curving.glaze.listed. And the finish point is Batheaston. From there you can travel back to the Park and Ride via public transport and the city centre.

The walk leader is Steve Holbrow, Cotswold Voluntary Wardens
