This walk will trace the designed landscape William Beckford created in Bath between his home at Lansdown Crescent and his Tower at the Top of Lansdown Hill.

Join Dr Amy Frost on a journey revealing what still survives of Beckford’s creation, how transatlantic slavery paid for it and why he wanted to build a retreat from the City.  You will also be rewarded with fantastic views from the top.

Walk details – Starting on Lansdown Crescent, we’ll walk up to Lansdown Cemetery (the grounds of Beckford’s Tower), finishing there.  This walk is approximately 2 miles, sometimes on rough pathways and all uphill including some steep sections. The route includes steps.  Dogs on leads are welcome.  There are bus stops near the start and finish of the walk.

Some access will be restricted due to building works at Beckford’s Tower.
