This session is ideal for anyone who would like to learn more about using maps in the countryside for navigation and planning walks and activities outdoors.

Led by a team of Cotswold Voluntary Wardens, you’ll start indoors looking at the history of maps, key features and symbols of ordnance survey maps, as well as an introduction to compass work and how to plan a walk. This will be followed by an adventure out in the local area, using maps to navigate the freshly planned walk.

The walk is flat (if you have particular access requirements, please get in touch).

The event isn’t suitable for dogs, other than assistance dogs.

We’ll be based at Lansdown Golf Club, BA1 9BT.  There will be a break for lunch – either bring your own or you can buy something from the Golf Club.

Booking is essential. You can book your free tickets here – Map Skills
