The landscape surrounding Bath was a key location for the development for the Picturesque movement in the late 18th & early 19th century. Join Dr Amy Frost on a journey revealing how Jane Austen and William Beckford explored the ideas in fiction and in reality.

This is the same walk as on 6th September.

Access details – limited parking in the small car park of the Tower (parking available for blue badge holders). Regular buses, including the park and ride bus stop outside. This is a short walk around the grounds of the Tower, over rough grass, a few steps but mainly flat.

Dogs on leads welcome. The walk isn’t aimed at children.

Please note, this walk does not include a tour of the interior of the Tower or the museum.

The meeting point is the car park of Beckford’s Tower (what3words danger.smiles.hobby)
