Friends of Charlcombe Community Nature Reserve will be taking a slow butterfly walk around the reserve – which is 16 acres and has two fields. They’ll spend time at the butterfly hotspots, exploring the different habitats where they can be found and what we can do to help butterflies in our gardens.
Twenty species of butterfly have been recorded here in 2025 and you’ll be looking for the species that can be seen in July, including gatekeepers, meadow browns and common blues. You will be able to use ID guides and butterfly books.
Meet at the kissing gate on Charlcombe Way at 11am – the number 6 bus stops at Richmond Heights on Solsbury Way, bikes can be locked up at the entrance and there is parking along Solsbury Way.
