A walk on the Cotswold Escarpment past Beckfords Tower, through Primrose Hill Community Woodland and along the Cotswold Way to Kelston Roundhill climb to Prospect Stile continue to follow the Cotswold Way to Hanging Hill and the Greville Monument and across the Golf Course to return to the start.

A stunning 9 mile walk starting from the Lansdown P&R site walking along the ridge past Beckford’s Tower before dropping down to the Primrose Hill Community Woodland. From there we continue down to the Cotswold Way and head towards Weston. A short walk through Weston before we start to climb up along the Cotswold Way towards Kelston Roundhill. We climb to the top of the Roundhill to take in the views to Bath, Bristol, the Mendips and the Welsh Hills in the distance. From Kelston Roundhill we re-gain the Cotswold Way and make our way to Prospect Stile from where we can look back at the route we’ve just walked. We continue along the Cotswold Way to Hanging Hill, where we see some of the work carried out by the Cotswold Voluntary Wardens. We stay on the Cotswold Way to reach the Greville Monument, slightly re-tracing our footsteps we return across the Golf Course and make our way back towards the Park and Ride at Lansdown.

Practicalities – the walk includes climbs of 1000ft including some steep sections, stiles, steps and potentially some mud.  There are no facilities around the walk (other than toilets at the start), so please come well prepared with snacks and drinks, comfy footwear and dress for the weather.  This walk is dog free please.

The walk leaders are Steve Holbrow and Helena Hodges.
