From a section of the Cotswold Way into Bath to the less well-known crescents of Cavendish, Somerset, Lansdown and Camden, before returning via Beacon Hill, the picturesque Charlcombe Valley, and Beckford’s Tower.
The walk starts at the changing rooms for Lansdown Playing fields at the Lansdown Park & Ride.
It begins by descending to the Primrose Hill nature reserve and onto a section of the Cotswold Way through Sion Hill into Bath. The path then takes us to the less well-known crescents in Bath (Cavendish, Somerset, Lansdown and Camden) before passing through Beacon Hill and Fairfield Park.
The walk returns by climbing up the Charlcombe valley stopping at the picturesque 12th century church of St Mary, and then on footpaths, with views across the Avon Valley, up to Lansdown Cemetery and the neo-classical Beckford’s tower and ride, before returning via the playing fields and the starting point.
Please bring refreshments and a packed lunch.
Assistance dogs only, please.
The walk is led by Cotswold Wardens, Steve and John.
This is a six mile circular walk with some steep uphill and downhill sections, stiles and steps.
