Do you love walking in and around Bath and enjoy talking to people? We are looking for people who can volunteer occasionally or regularly for our weekly wellbeing walks – ideally a couple of walks a month, year round. We have walks every day of the week, and you can see the variety on our weekly wellbeing walks page. This is one of our most rewarding activities and we walk in all weathers. The groups are made up of older people, people who enjoy walking with other people, people aiming to improve their physical and mental wellbeing, and they’re open to all.
People who’ve joined the walking groups have found new friendships, improved their health and kept active for longer. They regularly tell us how transformational joining the walking groups has been.
We are currently looking for volunteers to help regularly on:
- Monday mornings (10.45 to 12.30)
- Tuesday afternoons (12.30 to 1.30) with Time Bank Plus
- Thursday mornings (10.45 to 12) with Bath Mind
- Thursday afternoons (1.30 to 2.30) with Pulteney Practice
- The first Wednesday of each month (11 to 12) with Bath Mind.
We offer free walk leader training to volunteers. Alternatively, if you’d like to get involved but don’t want to lead the walks, then assistants / backmarkers are a crucial part of the team.
You can find out more by emailing us with any queries.
